Boston Bruins: projected lines for 2015-16

The Boston Bruins are in what many franchises call, a rebuilding stage. Out with the old and in with the new. That is the motto general manager Don Sweeney has been living by this offseason. In April, when former GM Peter Charielli informed the media that the club would not be bringing back Carl Soderberg and Daniel Paille. We saw that the Bruins were now open to changing their style of play.

A week later Charielli was canned. Sweeney took over and shipped out the old players to bring in young guns, and prospects, now we are in the stage of developing young talent. So what does this mean? Are we actually going to see rookies in the lineup this season for the Bruins? Why not? With the core of the Bruins still in the top six of the lineup, I feel this could be the season to try out something new and bring in the rookies. So here are my projected lines for the 2015-16 season:

Brad Marchand – Patrice Bergeron- David Pastrnak

Jordan Eberle (via trade) – David Krejci – Matt Belesky

Jimmy Hayes – Ryan Spooner – Jake Debrusk

Joonas Kemppainen – Max Talbot – Zac Rinaldo

I can see these lines happening in my mind if the Bruins are still going to continue the rebuild and stick to developing prospects. As you can see I am big on the rookie Debrusk. After he had a strong training and has the speed of an NHLer I think he should get a shot with the team, like Pastrnak did last year, and see how that turned out. Production.

Also I think the Bruins are still in the mix of working out a trade for Jordan Eberle. I think that now Charielli is in Edmonton, he will put in a new system over there. The Oilers are in need for a veteran presence and I think being in the NHL for a while, Eberle is in need of change and the Bruins are in the need for scoring. So why not Boston?

Now we move to the defense, which is in absolute shambles right now. Same thing with rookie here I like the D-men they have in the system and they are going to be very good on the blue line, why not this season for the rebuild. Here are my projected defense lines:

Zdeno Chara – Dennis Seidenberg

Torey Krug – Zach Trotman

Adam Mcquaid – Matt Grezlcyk

Pretty beat up on the back end for the Boston Bruins. But I see a lot of potential in the system if they do not make a move for a better D-men. I think they do need help there. A better puck moving guy like Krug, someone who can skate up the ice and still has a hard shot with a lot of power. I need a move to feel more confident in this group, but who knows with Claude Julien, the next man up has always been a thing to him and I would see Matt Irwin and Joe Morrow also get rushed in there as well. Here’s to a 2015-16 season boys. Lets let the rookies play.
